The radar horizontal antenna emits narrow microwave pulses, which are transmitted downward through the antenna. When the pulse wave touches the surface of the medium under test, it is reflected back and received again by the antenna system. This signal is transmitted to the electronic circuit section and automatically converted into a horizontal signal (due to the extremely fast propagation speed of the pulse, the time required for the electromagnetic wave to reach the target and return to the receiver after reflection is almost instantaneous).
